Warehouse Specialist

Washington, DC 20001

Posted: 12/05/2025 Employment Type: Warehouse Clerk Industry: Government Contracts Job Number: 49830-MM Pay Rate: $27.08

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Professional Warehouse Specialist with solid experience in warehousing, receiving, and inventory management. This role requires more than physical labor—while stocking and lifting are part of the job, the ideal candidate brings analytical skills, professionalism, and the ability to work independently. The work environment is more professional/business-oriented than a typical warehouse, with significant responsibilities involving asset and property management. The individual must be comfortable interacting with upper management and, at times, high-profile officials.

Responsibilities

  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy
  • Check for damage and proper documentation
  • Ensure items are correctly labeled, packaged, and routed
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records
  • Maintain inventory and property issuance records
  • Assist with uniform and equipment procurement
  • Support distribution of materials across multiple Capitol Hill sites
  • May direct or coordinate activities of other warehouse staff
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform requirements
  • Operate department vehicles around Capitol Hill and the greater metro area (including Fort Meade and Manassas)
  • Drive vehicles up to the size of a 34-foot U-Haul (box truck experience helpful but not required)
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Occasionally work in proximity to dignitaries, senators, members of Congress, Sgt. at Arms, and White House officials
  • Represent the department with professionalism and composure

Shift: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7:30a-4p; Tuesday and Thursday 9:30a-6p (availability to work overtime on occasions)

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship (mandatory)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (will be verified)
  • Experience in a warehouse environment, specifically with receiving and inventory processes
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality, with a documented history of consistency in previous roles
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check (conducted by both NRI and the client)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong professionalism, including communication skills and a polished, appropriate appearance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate department vehicles, including vans and large trucks (up to the size of a 34-foot U-Haul)
  • Experience in a professional or business office environment
  • Experience with asset management or property tracking systems
  • Box truck or commercial vehicle driving experience
  • Experience interacting with senior leadership, officials, or high-visibility environments
