Job Description

A well-established law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a Trademark Docketing Clerk to support its Intellectual Property team. This position will work closely with trademark attorneys and paralegals to maintain trademark records, manage deadlines, and assist with administrative support related to domestic and international trademark matters.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines within a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update trademark docketing systems with deadlines and information related to trademark registrations, applications, and related matters.

  • Monitor deadlines and notify attorneys and paralegals of upcoming due dates.

  • Review docket entries regularly to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Generate reports regarding trademark deadlines and status updates.

  • Assist with preparation of standard correspondence regarding developments in trademark matters.

  • Help maintain accurate records related to domestic and international trademark filings and proceedings.

  • Identify and correct discrepancies within the docketing system as needed.

  • Provide administrative support to attorneys and paralegals within the Intellectual Property practice.

  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the team.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in trademark docketing, trademark paralegal work, or a similar legal support role.

  • Experience working with trademark docketing or IP management software preferred.

  • Familiarity with trademark prosecution processes and deadlines is strongly preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
