Job Description

The Research & Evaluation Specialist provides professional support for research, evaluation, and project coordination activities, typically under the direction of a Director. This role involves moderately complex tasks such as data analysis, research, writing, and project management. The Specialist will apply knowledge of policies and standards to support programs and internal functions, completing tasks or components of large-scale projects with minimal supervision. The role may also involve frequent communication with external organizations or internal stakeholders to coordinate projects, share information, or resolve issues.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct or assist with surveys, interviews, or focus groups under the direction of the Director of Research.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on data, data collection tools, and related documentation.
  • Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans to inform research projects.
  • Analyze survey data using statistical methods and STATA coding.
  • Develop and present charts, figures, and analytical narratives for research briefs, reports, white papers, and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Provide analytic support for research projects across the organization.
  • Assist project and program managers in administrative tasks and managing project timelines.
  • Support research teams with task management and coordination of project components.
  • Act as a consultant for the staff, offering expertise in research methodologies and data analysis.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support team goals and project deliverables.

 



 

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 1-3 years of experience in research or analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degrees may substitute for work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working as part of a research team conducting quantitative and/or qualitative research.
  • Strong proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software, and web-based survey tools (Qualtrics preferred).
  • Experience with statistical software, particularly Stata (Stata programming experience is REQUIRED).
  • Ability to compute basic descriptive statistics (percentages, means, medians) and perform cross-tabulations and confidence interval analysis.
  • Experience in conducting telephone interviews, summarizing interview content accurately, and following up as necessary.
