Job Description

The Temporary Business Development Specialist will support a range of business development activities for designated practice groups and initiatives within the firm. The primary focus of this role will be on pitch/proposal preparation, sponsorships, conferences, and events, as well as other marketing and promotional tasks. The position works closely with lawyers, business development managers, and staff to assist in profile-raising and business growth efforts.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Business Development Director or Manager to help execute marketing and business development projects for specific groups and initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations by collaborating with attorneys, marketing staff, and other team members.
  • Select and edit relevant content, and draft new materials for proposals and pitches.
  • Coordinate with research analysts, accounting staff, and reference librarians to gather necessary information.
  • Organize and produce final proposal materials in Word or PowerPoint formats.
  • Update and maintain practice group content in the firm’s central Foundation database.
  • Assist in coordinating and supporting client development efforts, such as sponsorships, in-person seminars, webinars, and other events.
  • Help prepare submissions for major legal directories and industry awards (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500).
  • Use the firm’s Interaction database to identify and confirm key relationship targets and assist attorneys in reaching out to those targets.
  • Assist in the preparation of targeted contact lists and provide support for events and business development initiatives.

This is a temporary role in office Monday - Friday 9am-5:30pm

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in marketing, business development, or client relations, preferably within a professional services or law firm setting.
  • Legal marketing experience is preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing RFPs, pitches, and proposals.
  • Strong writing and editing skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with business development processes and strategies is required.
  • Experience with proprietary marketing databases like Foundation or InterAction is a plus.
