Job Description

The Temporary Business Development Manager will support the Global Life Sciences Industry Group in executing marketing strategies and driving business growth initiatives. This role will be responsible for managing business development activities, including coordinating cross-practice pitches, proposals, and events, and supporting the industry group leader. The position will also involve managing day-to-day marketing operations, sponsorships, and other business development activities for the firm.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies to raise visibility and drive business growth in the Life Sciences industry sector. Lead efforts such as cross-practice working groups, conferences, events, and social media initiatives.
  • Oversee the full process of creating compelling pitches and proposals from planning to final submission, ensuring they are customized to meet client needs and opportunities.
  • Organize and coordinate logistics for industry conferences, speaking engagements, memberships, and special events, working with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with the Events team to plan and execute in-person client programs, webinars, and other special events for the Industry Group.
  • Partner with the Social Media team to create and post content promoting industry activities and firm initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies for industry-focused directory and award submissions, ensuring the firm’s presence and visibility in key industry recognitions.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to junior business development team members to ensure quality work and professional development.

 

This is a temporary role in office Monday - Friday 9am-5:30pm

 

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of managerial marketing experience, preferably in professional services or law firms.
  • Legal marketing experience is preferred, with Life Sciences experience being a plus.
  • Strong background in managing RFPs, pitches, proposals, and event logistics.
  • Proficiency with research tools, databases (including InterAction, Foundation), and marketing platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor junior team members.
  • Must be flexible to work additional hours if needed.
