CPA firm is seeking an entry-level Staff Accountant to perform full cycle accounting related projects as needed. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for audit planning and audit fieldwork for both non-profit and for-profit clients. If this sounds like you, we are looking for someone with experience in public accounting and AdvanceFlow audit software, Lacerte tax preparation and QuickBooks accounting software is a plus. CPA license or CPA candidate.

Candidate must be able to:

• Assist in audit planning and audit fieldwork for both non-profit and for-profit clients
• Assist in compilation and review engagements
• Financial Statement preparation and analysis
• Preparation of Form 990
• Preparation of MD and DC Personal Property Returns
• General ledger maintenance including bank and other account reconciliations, preparing journal entries and analyzing account balances and budget variances

 Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (at a minimum, must be working towards the 150 credit hour requirement)
• 0-3 years in the public accounting field
• CPA or CPA candidate
• Self motivated and strong analytical ability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Personable and ability to work well in a team environment
• Maintain professional demeanor and confidence communicating with clients
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft word and excel
• Experience with AdvanceFlow audit software, Lacerte tax preparation and QuickBooks accounting software is a plus
