Summary/Objective

The purpose of the position is to prepare financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Essential Functions

• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
• Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
• Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Support the preparation of the files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Leonardo US Corporation Controller.

This job can be adequately performed remotely. This role routinely uses standard equipment such as laptop computers, cell phones, and email.

 Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some e-filing is required. This would require the ability to visit the office from time to time to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

• Deltek CostPoint, Cognos, Hyperion Financial Management, SAP
• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Highly proficient with accounting software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
