Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Retirement Plan & Payroll Specialist to join our Human Resources team. In this part-time, onsite role, you’ll serve as the subject matter expert on all things retirement, while also supporting seamless and compliant payroll processing for our dedicated staff.

Please note: This is a Part time opportunity. 

 

Responsibilities

Retirement Plan Administration

 

  • Manage daily operations for 401(k), 457(b), 457(f), and Pension plans
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, and related regulations
  • Oversee plan audits, annual testing, Form 5500 filings, and employee communications
  • Serve as the primary liaison for plan vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain plan documentation and employee education materials

Payroll Administration

 

  • Support bi-weekly payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees
  • Ensure accurate benefit deductions and payroll reconciliation
  • Communicate with tax agencies and vendors on compliance matters
  • Generate payroll reports and assist with audits and adjustments

HR Ticketing System Support

 

  • Triage and assign incoming HR tickets
  • Resolve retirement-related employee inquiries with care and efficiency
  • Uphold high standards of service in every interaction

Job Requirements

Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years of experience in retirement plan administration and payroll
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least one of the following certifications: CRPP, RICP, QPA, RMA, QKA, CPFA
  • In-depth knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and retirement compliance
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax treatment and benefit deductions
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and discretion with confidential data
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (Dayforce preferred)
  • Familiarity with Principal Financial Services platform is a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
