Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare team. This role is ideal for an RN with experience in Medical-Surgical or Psychiatric nursing who is comfortable working in a structured, fast-paced environment. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, utilizing strong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and professionalism.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform intake assessments and ongoing nursing evaluations
  • Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Respond to urgent and emergent medical situations
  • Conduct sick call and chronic care clinics
  • Monitor and support patients with behavioral health needs
  • Document all care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Collaborate with medical providers, mental health professionals, and staff
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, DC regulations, and nursing standards of practice

 

 

Shifts: 3p-11p or 11p-7:30a (must be able to work at least three days weekly, full time schedule available)

Job Requirements

Qualifications

 

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington, DC
  • Current CPR/BLS certification 
  • Up-to-date immunizations and health clearance
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Med-Surg and/or Psychiatric nursing
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and medication administration skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a secure environment
  • Experience in correctional, emergency, med-surg, or behavioral health settings
  • Comfortable managing both medical and mental health conditions
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain boundaries
  • Reliable, adaptable, and team-oriented
