**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide quality care within a busy corrections setting. This role is ideal for an RN with at least one year of experience, preferably with a background in Med-Surg. While experience in a correctional facility is a plus, it is not required. The position requires a commitment to patient-centered care and leadership qualities to ensure a supportive and safe environment for both staff and patients. This is a long-term contract role with weekday shifts and one required weekend per month.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide comprehensive nursing care, including assessments, interventions, and evaluations.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and document all care accurately.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare and corrections staff to address patient needs and ensure safety.
- Manage multiple patient cases efficiently in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.
- Serve as a resource and leader to other healthcare staff when needed.
- Foster a respectful and compassionate approach toward patient care, considering the unique needs of the corrections population.
**Qualifications:**
- Active RN license in Washington, D.C.
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience; Med-Surg experience is a plus.
- Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Leadership abilities and teamwork orientation.
- Compassionate approach to working with vulnerable populations.
**Schedule:**
- Must be available for weekday shifts, with one weekend per month required.
