We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) with a strong understanding of Medicaid regulations and requirements. As a QIDP - Medicaid Expert, you will play a crucial role in reviewing and assessing care plans for individuals with intellectual disabilities to determine eligibility and approval for Medicare and Medicaid services. Your knowledge of Medicaid policies and your experience in providing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities will ensure accurate evaluations and support for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Review individualized care plans for clients with intellectual disabilities, assessing the level of care needed and the compatibility with Medicaid guidelines.
  2. Utilize your expertise in Medicaid regulations to ensure that care plans meet all necessary criteria for approval.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals and case managers, to gather information and develop comprehensive care plans.
  4. Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs, preferences, and abilities, ensuring that care plans are tailored to each individual.
  5. Regularly monitor and evaluate the progress of clients, making adjustments to care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  6. Stay up-to-date with changes in Medicaid policies and procedures, ensuring compliance in all care planning activities.
  7. Provide guidance and training to direct care staff to ensure proper implementation of care plans and adherence to Medicaid guidelines.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client assessments, care plans, and ongoing evaluations.
  9. Communicate effectively with clients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions related to Medicaid-approved care plans.
  10. Collaborate with external agencies and organizations to coordinate services and resources for clients with intellectual disabilities.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field (Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, etc.). Master's degree is a plus.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP), with a proven track record in care planning for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  3. In-depth knowledge of Medicaid regulations and requirements, especially as they pertain to intellectual disabilities and long-term care services.
  4. Residency in Washington, DC, with a strong understanding of local resources and services.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with Medicaid guidelines.
  7. Ability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions regarding care plans and Medicaid eligibility.
  8. Empathetic and compassionate approach to working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families.
  9. Proficiency in relevant software and tools for documentation and communication.
  10. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with Medicaid policy changes.
