Job Description

The Professional Development Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the growth, integration, and ongoing development of legal talent. This position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual with a strong service mindset, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Coordinator works closely with firm leadership, attorneys, and various administrative teams to ensure seamless onboarding, professional development, and alumni engagement efforts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and implementation of attorney onboarding initiatives, including welcome communications, orientation schedules, and logistics coordination

  • Collaborate with departments and practice groups to ensure smooth integration of new attorneys

  • Manage onboarding and departure processes in Workday, ensuring timely execution of all related tasks

  • Track key integration and development milestones for attorneys, including check-ins, mentor assignments, and internal role changes

  • Process advance payment submissions for new associates accurately and on time

  • Assist with bar renewal processes, immigration coordination, and alumni research and database updates in partnership with the Director of Attorney & Alumni Relations

  • Contribute to professional development programs and initiatives, including communications, development tools, and internal portal updates

  • Support the associate mentoring program through event coordination and mentor-mentee matching

  • Help plan meetings, networking events, and engagement initiatives

  • Compile and analyze performance and staffing data for reporting purposes

  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Director of Professional Development on various projects

  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity in all matters related to firm and client information

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required

  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience; experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred

  • Prior law firm experience is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure

  • High level of professionalism and discretion

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with Workday and/or ViRecruit is a plus
