The Procurement Specialist oversees procurement operations to ensure efficient acquisition of goods and services essential for company operations. This role requires strategic planning, supplier relationship management, and the ability to optimize procurement processes to support organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will oversee the procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service agreements.
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives, focusing on cost savings and quality improvement.
Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to maintain high standards of delivery, quality, and service.
Continuously optimize procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, driving operational excellence within the supply chain.
Monitor the progress of purchase orders and expedite deliveries, as necessary.
Resolve any issues or delays in the procurement process.
Coordinate with internal departments to prioritize urgent orders.
Assist in inventory management to prevent stock shortages.
Report on expediting activities and provide updates to stakeholders.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of procurement experience.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
Must be Proficient in procurement software and tools (SAP, DELTEK Costpoint)
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Hybrid work schedule (3 days/week). Commutable distance to Alexandria, VA
Experience with Government customer/vendors preferred
