Position Overview
Our client, a well-established boutique law firm in Northern Virginia, is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support a fast-paced practice handling criminal defense and family litigation matters. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion. Fluency in Spanish is required to effectively communicate with clients.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Criminal & Civil Litigation Support
  • Electronic filing in state and local courts
  • Managing calendars, court dates, deadlines, and hearings
  • Maintaining physical and electronic case files
  • Organizing discovery, pleadings, and litigation materials
  • Communicating with courts, clients, and opposing counsel
Administrative Support
  • Drafting and proofreading legal correspondence
  • Maintaining case management systems and filing accuracy
  • Monitoring deadlines and ensuring court rule compliance
  • Answering phones and assisting clients professionally
 

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Prior experience in criminal defense and family litigation 
  • Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Strong knowledge of electronic filing systems
  • Experience with legal calendaring
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal experience
  • Familiarity with Northern Virginia and local court procedures
