Family Law Paralegal (DC Family Law Experience Required)

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid Available)
Schedule: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Temporary
Compensation: $35–$40 per hour

NRI Legal Resources is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal on behalf of a confidential law firm in Washington, DC. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned paralegal with substantial experience handling District of Columbia family law matters who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced legal environment.

The successful candidate will support a single attorney and play a key role in managing an active family law practice.

Responsibilities

• Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, and other family law documents.
• Manage case files and maintain accurate records throughout the litigation process.
• Coordinate court filings and ensure compliance with DC court rules and deadlines.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.
• Assist with discovery, trial preparation, and hearing preparation.
• Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, hearings, and deadlines.
• Proactively manage caseload priorities while working with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a Family Law Paralegal handling District of Columbia family law cases is required.
• Strong knowledge of DC family law procedures, court rules, and filing requirements.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.

Position Details
