Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. This on-call role will involve providing high-quality nursing care on an as-needed basis, filling in for staff shortages, and supporting patient care during peak times. Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with nursing protocols.
  • Monitor and document patients' vital signs, symptoms, and health status, reporting any significant changes to the healthcare team.
  • Assist with patient assessments, including physical examinations and health histories.
  • Provide wound care, including dressing changes and management of wounds.
  • Perform essential nursing procedures such as catheterizations, injections, and blood draws.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
  • Accurately document patient care and progress in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and mobility as needed.
  • Collaborate with registered nurses (RNs), physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, infection control practices, and healthcare regulations.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and concerns with empathy and professionalism.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Current LPN license in DC
  • Completion of an accredited LPN program
  • Minimum of 1 years of nursing experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient care and teamwork
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing schedules
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records software
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends as needed

 

Must Have The Following Update To Date Records: 

  • CPR Card.
  • Hep B or Declination form 
  • Flu shot or Declination form ( flu shot must have been administered within the last 12 months)
  • MMR
  • PPD or Chest Xray ( completed   within the last 12 months ) ( if chest Xray within the last 5 years  
  • T-dap (received within the last 10 years)
  • Varicella
  • Covid Vaccination (if johnson johnson both shots, if phizer both shots plus booster shot)
