Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Utility Maintenance Technician to join our property maintenance team. This role is essential in maintaining clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing grounds and facilities for residents. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of relevant experience in landscaping, gardening, exterior maintenance, plumbing, and electrical work, and is able to work independently with minimal supervision.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment for residents
  • Care for grounds and landscaping, including watering, trimming hedges, and clearing leaves
  • Perform snow removal as needed
  • Maintain exterior lighting and ensure pet stations are stocked and emptied regularly (three times per week)
  • Collect and dispose of curbside debris and trash from public and private walks
  • Maintain service vehicle and landscaping equipment
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs and basic electrical repairs throughout the property
  • Replace exterior light bulbs and other fixtures as needed
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to prevent future issues
  • Repair or maintain pet stations, dispensers, and other property equipment
  • Respond to resident inquiries and complaints with patience, empathy, and professionalism
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents, vendors, and property management
  • Provide transparent updates to maintenance supervisors and property managers

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Basic experience in landscaping, gardening, exterior maintenance, plumbing, and electrical work
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools such as drills, saws, and pipe cutters
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures for all tasks
  • Clean driver’s record
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical information clearly to supervisors and residents
  • Strong time management and critical thinking skills to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Detail-oriented and committed to high-quality workmanship
  • Strong focus on safety and adherence to protocols
