Excellent opportunity for a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner located in Reston, VA.  This is working in a busy practice and the NP will perform physical examinations, confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the office to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care. The payrate/salary will depend upon experience.

Hours of operation: Mondays, Tuesdays, & Fridays 8am-4pm Wednesdays and Thursdays 8am-6:30pm

• Experience with IUDs, Nexplanon, Endometrial Biopsies, Colposcopy, and Pessaries.
• Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
• Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
• Consults with supervising physicians or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
• Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.
• Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
• Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.

Qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted Virginia Nurse Practitioner license, CDS & DEA.
• 1-2 years' WHNP experience.
• Proficient with endometrial biopsy, colposcopy, IUD, and Nexplanon.
• Current BLS, Covid 19 vaccinations, immunizations, & PPD/Chest X-Ray/QuantiFERON/T-SPOT
