Job Description

Our client in the non-profit industry is seeking a Member Service representative to assist their members. The Member Service will be conduct research and provide information to their members with benefits plans. If this sounds like you we are looking for someone who has experience in customer service and/or life insurance (preferred). This position is a long-term contract for 9-12 months.

Job Requirements

Candidate must be able to:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding and knowledge of all their products and services provided to members, and software programs
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of operations of the life cycle of life and annuity products to include billing and collections
  • Maintain a thorough understanding and knowledge of all their software programs utilized by the team, and all products, services, rates, etc.
  • Process all requested disbursements via check, wire and fund transfer for premium refunds, loans, terminations and withdrawals
  • Research, generate, and promptly handle processing of 95 & 100% letters, Successor Owners updates, Conservation/Termination packages, Returned Checks, Policy Loans, Loan History, Bank Info changes, etc.
  • Provide resolution on member inquiries to Customer Service related activities   
  • Assist with the generation of Permanent “Plus” and Annuity plan member statements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or at least 1-3 years of relevant operations experience required, life insurance preferred
  • Hold or pursuing insurance designations such as FLMI, ACS, or PCS
  • Candidates must be detail-oriented, display effective written & verbal communication skills, possess strong initiative, able to successfully work independently to solve problems, as well as work in a team environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
