Job Description

The Logistics Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the operational needs by providing essential logistical services. This includes overseeing the distribution of various commodities, supporting special events, facilitating office and storage moves, and responding to real-time logistical requests. The position requires a highly adaptable, proactive individual who can respond to the dynamic needs of the operations, particularly during large-scale events and activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the inventory and distribution of a wide range of materials.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of commodities to the appropriate locations, departments, or personnel.
  • Oversee the large-scale distribution of critical supplies.
  • Ensure that commodities are delivered and deployed efficiently for special events, emergency operations, or large-scale needs.
  • Coordinate and execute small to medium-scale internal moves within offices and storage areas, including transporting equipment, supplies, or materials between different locations or offices.
  • Safely pack and transport sensitive equipment or documents, ensuring proper handling and placement.
  • Assist with the coordination and distribution of food and beverages for personnel, particularly during events, operational support, or for routine operational needs.
  • Provide transportation for rental vehicles, including picking up and returning vehicles as needed.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained in proper condition and returned on time according to rental agreements and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate the pre-staging and setup of light towers for events or operations requiring additional lighting.
  • Ensure that all light towers are properly tested and ready for deployment as per the operational needs.
  • Work closely with various operational elements to address logistical requirements associated with their missions.
  • Ensure seamless communication and coordination between teams to support real-time operational needs, especially in high-priority or urgent situations.
  • Provide logistical support for major events and high-profile activities.
  • Support the distribution of necessary commodities and assist with event setup and operations.
  • Actively monitor communication channels such as radios and email systems for incoming logistical support requests.
  • Respond promptly to requests for assistance, ensuring that operational needs are met in a timely manner.
  • The logistics support team is expected to remain flexible and mobile, quickly adjusting to changing operational needs.
  • Proactively anticipate needs, providing responsive logistical support to operations and events as they arise.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in logistics, supply chain management, or similar roles is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects, including heavy items (up to 50 pounds), and perform physical tasks associated with event setup and breakdown.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, management, and external vendors.
  • Ability to identify logistical challenges and develop solutions quickly and efficiently.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities without missing critical details.
  • Familiarity with standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite) and the ability to operate communication devices such as radios and email systems.
  • Able to work varying hours, including occasional overtime during special events, and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Valid driver's license required for vehicle-related tasks, including picking up and returning rental vehicles.
