Job Description

Provides high-quality litigation support to a group of lawyers and professionals in a team environment to effectively and efficiently meet Firm/client needs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, format, edit, proofread, and manage Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations. Draft routine correspondence and forms under the supervision of lawyers or other professionals.
  • Answer telephone calls and routine inquiries from clients and staff, routing calls to the appropriate lawyer or staff member as needed.
  • Assist in managing lawyers' calendars by scheduling appointments, depositions, meetings (both external and internal), hearings, and closings.
  • Schedule domestic and international travel through the firm's travel system, including flights, hotels, and car rentals.
  • Track, organize, and process reimbursements, invoices, and check requests.
  • Run conflict checks, open new client matters, draft engagement letters, and ensure all documents are submitted correctly.
  • Open, prioritize, and distribute mail; coordinate mailings, deliveries, copying, and courthouse filings as appropriate.
  • Enter and manage work requests from lawyers in the workflow tool and complete them by provided deadlines.
  • Perform routine filing, photocopying, scanning, and distributing documents; coordinate with administrative departments as needed.
  • Work independently to ensure assignments are completed accurately and on time, even when complex in nature.
  • Provide clerical assistance for non-legal departments as needed.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Court experience preferably DC District Court 
  • 4-5 years of experience supporting lawyers and paralegals with administrative or client-related tasks.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Worksite/Filesite document management system.
  • Proficient in core legal administrative functions with strong technical and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Excellent attention to detail, grammar, and punctuation, with the ability to articulate thoughts clearly and present new ideas effectively.
