Job Description

Legal Recruiting Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative support to the Director of Administration and Legal Recruiting. In addition, you will assist the Senior Coordinator with administrative functions and support the legal recruiting efforts of the D.C. office, including professional development initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential functions:

Fall Recruiting

  • Serve as an ambassador of the Firm with candidates, summer associates, law school administration, law student organizations, vendors and diversity organizations;
  • Contact law schools regarding on campus interviews and complete the necessary registration forms to secure an interview date;
  • Welcome students in hospitality suite during on-campus interviews, as needed;
  • Set up on campus interviews and assemble documentation to accompany interviewing attorneys;
  • Coordinate call back interviews;
  • Gather evaluations and process reports for review by Hiring Partner and Practice Group Leaders;
  • Process reimbursement of interviewing-related expenses;
  • Generate offer/rejection letters;
  • Maintain viRecruit, candidate database;
  • Coordinate bar exam expenses/reimbursements.

 Summer Program

  • Assist in coordinating summer events which encourage interaction among members of the Firm and summer associates. Attend social events and facilitate interaction among attorneys and summer associates;
  • Assist in coordinating logistical preparations and orientation agendas & trainings for summer associates;
  • Assist with summer assignment coordination, and attend summer work report meetings;
  • Assist with compiling summer evaluation packets.

Lateral Associate Recruiting

  • Assist with the lateral attorney recruiting process, including preparation of interview schedules; and inputting candidate info into viRecruit;
  • Maintain records of search firm candidate submissions.

Professional Development

  • Distribute attorney training materials, sign-in sheets and program evaluations;
  • Coordinate to ensure NY CLE is granted for NY admitted attorneys;
  • Handle process re: approval of Virginia CLE credit for VA admitted attorneys.

 Miscellaneous

  • Update DC Event and DC Legal Recruiting Calendars;
  • Monitor DC Recruiting Inbox, flagging emails of interest and taking appropriate action;
  • Data Entry (viDesktop): enter all candidate information into database; manage on-line application process;
  • Schedule candidate interviews and coordinate internally to notify reception;
  • Solicit feedback from attorneys after interviews;
  • Compile candidate resume packets and materials for law school recruiting; assist in planning and attend receptions; liaise with student organizations on Firm Sponsorships;
  • Assist with the on-campus interviewing process, using various online platforms to schedule and preselect applicants for each law school;
  • Assist in coordinating periodic office attorney lunches, office TGITs, Holiday Party, and other events as they arise. Responsible for attending, setting-up and closing events, as requested;
  • Coordinate AMEX backup for department corporate credit card;
  • Assist the DA in coordinating periodic office attorney lunches/dinners/gatherings, practice group events/gatherings; office TGIFs, office Holiday Party and other events as they arise;
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work overtime hours and travel, if needed or requested.
