Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate IDD Reviewer to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years of hands-on experience working with developmentally disabled individuals and a strong commitment to improving their quality of life. Must be a Washington DC resident. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed evaluations of residents to assess individual needs, strengths, and challenges.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized service plans.
  • Conduct interviews with residents and their families to gather insights and ensure their voices are heard.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of resident progress and changing needs.
  • Stay informed on advancements, best practices, and techniques in the field of developmental disabilities.
  • Liaise with external agencies and funding sources—including Medicaid and Medicare—to ensure proper documentation and billing.
  • Advocate for residents’ rights, well-being, independence, and community inclusion.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on effective strategies for supporting developmentally disabled individuals.
  • Work remotely with required weekly visits to residents throughout Washington, DC.

 

Shift: Monday - Friday 8:30a-5p

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of direct experience working with developmentally disabled individuals in a residential setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interviews, teamwork, and family interactions.
  • Able to pass a drug and background check. 
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare procedures and regulations related to service provision.
  • Empathetic, patient, and committed to enhancing the lives of residents.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail for accurate documentation.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with computer software and electronic record-keeping systems.
  • Must be a current resident of Washington, DC.
