Job Summary:
The Human Resources Analyst performs a variety of professional duties in support of human resources management within the organization. This position will be required to handle confidential information.
Essential Job Functions:

• Manages position control processes to include tracking position history, request for new positions and changes to existing positions.
• Creates and updates positions in PS HCM based on authorized budgeted positions. Review and process requisitions for authorized positions and titles assuring that position titles are consistent and appropriate.
• Post open positions to meet organizational goals and requirement.
• Maintains current job descriptions for all positions. Ensures minimum and desirable qualifications are appropriate, job related, and consistent. Maintains standard job description formatting and language. Works with managers to periodically review job descriptions and revise as appropriate.
• Submits data to the Virginia New Hire Reporting Center for all newly hired or rehired employees.
• Runs queries and reports from PeopleSoft HCM for organizational needs.
• Assist in the collection, preparation, and review of data for reports.
• Review and processes personnel actions into the HRIS database to effect changes in employee status such as salary changes, transfers, and promotions.
• Maintains and processes confidential and sensitive information.
• Prepares monthly salary and pay grade reports.
• As a subject matter expert, assist and participate in PeopleSoft HCM user acceptance testing; report system defects and recreate problems in the test environment to identify user or system errors; set-up or enhancement of various modules.
• Assists with a variety of special projects.
• Administers the employee referral process. Track and process employee referral bonuses for recommended newly hired employees.
• Arranges travel and lodging for selected candidates when appropriate.
• Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
• Develops and produces letters for applicants and candidates throughout the hiring process.
• Revises and maintains organizational charts to reflect organizational structure, reorganizations, approved budgeted positions and current incumbents. Ensures that job descriptions are updated.
• Performs job analysis and classification studies; compile salary administration survey data by contacting external agencies; completes salary surveys for external organizations.
• Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local laws as they relate to the Human Resources Department. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
• Manage records created and received in compliance with the Records Management Policies and Procedures.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills essential to Job Functions:
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to compile a variety of information into detailed written and analytical written reports. Must have the ability to present effective oral presentations. Ability to work independently and in team settings, will be required to maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, management, and the general public. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation's.
Required Software Knowledge and Skills essential to Job Functions:
Proficiency in using computer systems and the listed software applications associated with performance of assigned work is essential. Basic problem-solving skills associated with software applications used is expected. Software usage relevant to job duties will be evaluated.
