Job Description

This role is ideal for an LPN who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has extensive experience with high-volume medication administration. The LPN will play a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, and compliant healthcare services. Strong clinical judgment, organization, and the ability to maintain professionalism in a structured environment are essential.

 

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications to a large patient population in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
  • Perform medication passes efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced setting
  • Monitor patients for medication effectiveness and adverse reactions
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Conduct basic nursing assessments and report changes in condition to the RN or provider
  • Assist with sick calls, treatments, and chronic care clinics as assigned
  • Ensure compliance with policies, state regulations, and healthcare standards
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times

 

 

Shifts: Monday - Friday 3p-11p or 11p-7:30a (must be able to work rotating weekends; full time, weekends only or three days per week schedule available)

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Washington, DC
  • Up-to-date immunizations and health clearance (including required vaccinations per facility policy)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Previous long-term care or high-volume medication administration experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage heavy medication passes safely and efficiently
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and focused in a structured, fast-paced environment
  • Experienced in high-volume clinical settings
  • Comfortable administering medications to a large population daily
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Maintains composure and professionalism in challenging situations
