This full-time administrative role supports admissions operations within a Health Care Center while also coordinating biweekly nursing payroll. The position plays a key role in maintaining census targets, managing referrals, verifying insurance, and serving as a liaison with hospitals, insurance providers, and internal clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate admissions for short-term rehabilitation and long-term care
Manage referrals, medical records, admission packets, and required documentation
Verify Medicare and commercial insurance eligibility and benefits
Respond to admission inquiries within one hour, working closely with hospital discharge planners, social workers, families, and prospective residents
Develop and maintain relationships with hospital discharge planners and other referral sources
Monitor hospitalized residents and coordinate discharge planning
Coordinate room readiness with Facilities and Environmental Services
Serve as liaison with Medicare Advantage and HMO/PPO plans, including authorizations, benefits verification, case management updates, and family communication
Process and approve biweekly nursing payroll
Serve as backup for quarterly Payroll-Based Journaling submissions
Maintain and update Plan-of-Care schedules
Order office supplies and manage administrative support needs
Distribute mail and maintain resident census and registers
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Healthcare, Social Work, or related field)
Strong knowledge of Medicare and commercial insurance plans
General understanding of medical terminology, diagnoses, and scopes of care
Ability to review admission contracts and clearly explain terms to residents and families
Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
