Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Contract Closeout Specialist to join our acquisition support team. The contractor will provide general acquisition support, with a primary focus on contract closeout administration. This role requires a strong understanding of contract documentation, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Must be able to pass a background check.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform contract closeout for various contract types in accordance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Interpret and analyze contract documentation and invoice data to ensure accurate closeout packages.
  • Audit contract files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Obtain concurrences for closeout from the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and vendors.
  • Prepare letters, memorandums, and other forms in support of contract closeout activities.
  • Coordinate with the closeout team lead and program office to ensure cross-functional team efficiency.
  • Interact with internal/external customers, peers, and management at all levels.
  • Encourage and participate in teamwork in a positive and proactive manner.
  • Track closeout statistics to achieve department goals and maintain cognizance of progress.
  • Recommend de-obligation of excess funds following agency guidelines and procedures.
  • Prepare contract completion statements and manage disposal of contract files.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and attend meetings to provide input and analysis on contract closeouts.

 

Shift: Monday - Friday 8a-5p

 

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

 

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Prior experience working in government acquisition or contracting environments.
  • Experience with contract administration and closeout processes.
  • Ability to interpret complex contractual documentation and financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Familiarity with agency guidelines for de-obligation of funds.
