Job Description

This role goes beyond traditional warehouse duties and requires a candidate with strong analytical skills, inventory management experience, and the ability to operate independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism. The ideal candidate will have experience in both warehouse operations and asset management, along with a proven track record of reliability, professionalism, and longevity in previous roles. This position regularly interacts with leadership and may operate in high-visibility environments, requiring excellent communication skills and presentation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against invoices, manifests, and bills of lading
  • Ensure accuracy of quantities and proper documentation of all incoming goods
  • Identify, report, and document damaged or missing items
  • Accurately input and maintain inventory records
  • Verify outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness
  • Package, label, and prepare materials for transport
  • Load and unload goods safely and efficiently
  • Track, issue, and maintain inventory of uniforms, equipment, and departmental assets
  • Ensure accountability and proper documentation of all issued property
  • Operate department vehicles (up to 34-foot U-Haul size)
  • Perform deliveries and pickups across Capitol Hill and the surrounding metro area
  • Coordinate with team members and assist in directing workflow when needed
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in environments involving leadership and dignitaries
  • Support overall operational efficiency and readiness

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of direct experience in warehouse receiving operations 
  • Valid driver’s license (will be verified)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Proven reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance history
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Experience with box trucks or similar vehicles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in both warehouse and professional office environments
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks throughout the day
  • Communication with high-level personnel, including government officials
  • Professional appearance is critical (occasional visibility in public or televised environments)
