Job Description

The Senior Accountant at the Education & Technology Attaché Office will be responsible for managing accounting operations related to vendor payments, payroll, and reconciliation of financial transactions. This is a key role that requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism. The Senior Accountant will serve as the primary point of contact for vendors and universities, processing payments, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports. Success in this position relies on strong communication skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and a high level of organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and input vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and prepare payments on time.
  • Manage a large volume of invoices (150+ per week) in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Input payroll data, including hours worked, changes in rates, withholdings, and deductions as instructed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee payroll in accordance with the embassy's payroll schedule.
  • Enter and reconcile bank transactions, ensuring proper documentation for all transactions.
  • Monitor and reconcile bank activity and account balances to ensure accuracy.
  • Regularly communicate with vendors and universities regarding payment inquiries, account balances, and other accounting matters.
  • Liaise with internal team members, including Senior Accountants and Student Advisors, to address accounting-related questions and concerns.
  • Communicate effectively via email, phone, and Zoom to resolve any issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist in preparing regular financial reports, including accounts payable summaries and payroll reports.
  • Ensure that all accounting processes are in compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Support other accounting and administrative functions as required.
  • Provide any necessary support in auditing or financial reviews when requested.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Strong background in handling full-cycle accounts payable, especially with a large volume of invoices (150+ per week).
  • Proven experience processing payroll through automated systems.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Oracle.
  • Familiarity with bank reconciliation and general ledger management.
  • Ability to use spreadsheets (Excel) and other accounting tools effectively.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal staff, clients, and vendors.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with external vendors and university representatives.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • A high level of professionalism in all interactions, maintaining discretion and confidentiality as required.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and foster effective working relationships.
