NRI Legal Staffing Resources, Inc. is partnering with a reputable, mid-sized law firm headquartered in Washington, D.C., to identify an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney for its expanding Virginia office. With a strong presence across the Eastern Seaboard, this firm is known for its legal excellence, client-focused approach, and collaborative workplace culture.

The selected attorney will join the Virginia criminal defense team, focusing on cases throughout Northern Virginia and the I-95 corridor. This role involves full case management from intake through trial or resolution and working closely with an experienced team of attorneys and legal support staff.

Represent clients in a broad range of criminal matters from initial intake through final resolution or appeal.
Manage a full caseload with minimal supervision.
Conduct legal research, draft motions, and represent clients in court.
Provide strategic legal advice and maintain strong client communication.
Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on criminal defense litigation experience (Virginia experience strongly preferred).
In-depth knowledge of Virginia criminal law, local court procedures, and the broader legal landscape.
Demonstrated courtroom advocacy skills and trial experience.
Ability to manage cases independently with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Experience in appeals or post-conviction relief (PCR).
Spanish language proficiency is a strong plus.
Prior clerkship experience is advantageous.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing with the Virginia Bar.
$100,000 – $150,000 annually, based on experience and performance.
Compensation includes a base draw plus commission-based incentives.
