We are seeking a Communications Specialist to join our team on a temp-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web design, graphic creation, and content management. This person will play a key role in the launch and upkeep of a new website, creating marketing materials, managing social media presence, and supporting the creation of PowerPoint presentations. The role requires excellent writing, editing, and design skills, and proficiency with various web development tools and graphic design software.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the launch and maintenance of a new website, ensuring content is up to date and aligned with the organization’s goals.
• Create and design marketing materials (e.g., slicks, brochures, etc.) to support outreach and communication efforts.
• Maintain and update the organization’s social media presence, ensuring consistency and engagement.
• Create visually appealing graphics for PowerPoint presentations, reports, and other materials.
• Provide writing and editorial support for process documentation, articles, scripts, website content, and both internal and external communications.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
• Use web development tools (HTML, CSS) and content management systems (e.g., Drupal, Convio, Kintera) for web updates and site maintenance.
• Utilize design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to create visual content.
• Work with Microsoft Office suite, desktop publishing tools, and migrating files across platforms.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in web design, graphic design, and content management.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred.
• Expertise in web development technologies (HTML, CSS) and experience with content management systems (e.g., Drupal, Convio, Kintera).
• Strong proficiency in design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with thorough knowledge of English grammar and punctuation.
• Experience creating compelling, clear, and concise written content for a variety of audiences.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and experience with desktop publishing.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
