Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinical operations, with a primary focus on suicide watch monitoring and intake processing. This role is ideal for a CMA who is attentive, compassionate, and comfortable working in a structured environment. The CMA will play a critical role in supporting mental health safety protocols and ensuring efficient medical intake procedures for newly admitted individuals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with medical intake screenings for newly admitted individuals
  • Support suicide watch protocols, including close observation and documentation
  • Monitor and report changes in behavior or medical status to nursing staff
  • Obtain and record vital signs and medical history information
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
  • Assist nursing staff with basic clinical tasks and administrative duties
  • Follow all facility policies, safety standards, and security procedures

 

 

Shift: Monday - Friday 11p-7:30a (must be able to work rotating weekends)

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
  • Up-to-date immunizations and health clearance
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Experience in correctional, behavioral health, emergency, or intake settings
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-risk situations
  • Experience working with behavioral health or high-risk populations
  • Comfortable supporting suicide prevention and safety protocols
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Highly attentive, organized, and dependable
  • Able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare and team
