Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily medical care of incarcerated individuals, including performing health screenings and obtaining medical histories.
  • Conduct venipuncture and capillary blood draws, ensuring proper techniques and safety protocols are followed.
  • Measure and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration) and document findings accurately.
  • Support RNs and physicians during medical examinations and procedures, providing necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulations.
  • Provide education to inmates on health topics, medication instructions, and self-care practices.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare team members to deliver efficient and effective care within the facility.
  • Follow all safety and security protocols specific to the correctional environment to ensure the safety of patients and staff.

 

Shifts: 

Monday-Sunday: 7a-3p

Monday- Sunday: 4p-12a

Weekends 7a-3p, 3p-11p or 11p - 7a

 

 

 

Job Requirements

 

Qualifications:

  • Current DC CMA certification.
  • Experience with blood draws and clinical procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and practices.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with inmates and staff.
  • Ability to work effectively in a challenging and dynamic environment.
