Direct Placement Opportunity – Assisted Living Manager (Registered Nurse)

NRI Healthcare is seeking an experienced Assisted Living Manager (RN) to oversee the daily operations of an assisted living team in a senior living community. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring exceptional resident care, maintaining regulatory compliance, supervising clinical staff, and promoting a collaborative, resident-centered environment.

Position Summary

The Assisted Living Manager provides clinical leadership and operational oversight for the Assisted Living department. This individual is responsible for supervising care staff, coordinating resident services, ensuring quality standards are met, and supporting the professional development of team members while delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct resident assessments using the community's electronic resident care system.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations until additional medical assistance arrives.
  • Assist with scheduling and staffing for care team members to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Monitor employee schedules, timecards, payroll documentation, overtime, and labor utilization.
  • Develop and maintain daily staffing schedules and assignments.
  • Lead daily stand-up meetings and participate in regular staff meetings.
  • Foster a positive team culture through coaching, mentoring, recognition, and professional development.
  • Interview, hire, onboard, train, and retain high-performing staff.
  • Supervise performance management and support succession planning initiatives.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and ensure compliance with all privacy regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to state, federal, and organizational policies and standards.
  • Promote open communication and collaboration across departments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and enhance quality of care.
  • Support occupancy and community initiatives as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Operational Responsibilities

Depending on the size of the community, the Assisted Living Manager may also:

  • Coordinate departmental scheduling to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
  • Communicate schedule changes with leadership and staff in a timely manner.
  • Participate in on-call scheduling support, including after-hours communication when necessary.
  • Ensure attendance, accountability, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Utilize sound judgment to resolve staffing and operational challenges while supporting the needs of both residents and employees.

Leadership Responsibilities

The Assisted Living Manager may directly supervise members of the Assisted Living team, including:

  • Lead Resident Assistants
  • Resident Assistants
  • Medication Technicians
  • Shift Supervisors and other care staff

Responsibilities include hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, evaluating performance, counseling, and supporting staff under the guidance of community leadership.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • One to three years of experience working in senior care, assisted living, or long-term care.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and effectively manage multiple tasks.
