Job Description

We're looking for experienced Application Developers to join a major system modernization initiative — replacing legacy pension administration technology with a modern, Azure-hosted platform.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, and unit test application components for a major system modernization effort
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain application components to meet functional and technical requirements
  • Build APIs, system interfaces, and automation workflows to support integration across modernized and legacy platforms
  • Write clear, actionable user stories and help maintain a prioritized development backlog
  • Conduct code reviews and submit pull requests for staff review
  • Analyze business processes and translate functional designs, documentation standards, and acceptance criteria into working software
  • Translate technical specifications into maintainable, production-ready code
  • Collaborate with technical staff, analysts, testers, and project managers throughout the SDLC
  • Manage multiple concurrent development tasks while meeting established project timelines
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Support legacy system understanding (architecture, dependencies, integration points) as needed during transition

 

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Experience with modern application development frameworks, programming languages, and secure coding practices
  • Working knowledge of SDLC methodologies, including Agile
  • Experience with business process analysis, functional design, documentation standards, and acceptance criteria definition
  • Familiarity with legacy systems architecture, dependencies, and integration points
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, low-defect code
  • Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional technical teams
  • Knowledge of pension software systems and related business rules is a plus
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, with availability for occasional in-person meetings (travel not reimbursed)
