Job Description

Our client in the non-profit industry is seeking an Accounts Payable specialist to assist the Finance Department. The Accounts Payable specialist will be responsible for vendor accounts, grants and budgets. If this sounds like you, we are looking for someone with experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping and QuickBooks.

Job Requirements

Candidate must be able to:

  • Creates and manages vendor relationships and confirms vendor status, billing, and contact information
  • Analyze vendor accounts and develops vendor payment plans and trade credit arrangements
  • Properly codes and enters bills into QuickBooks
  • Monitors and reports on unpaid bills from QuickBooks
  • Pays bills upon funds availability and CAFO approval (process checks/submit on-line bill payments)
  • Approves credit card charges and gift card distribution
  • Stay abreast of technological advances in the AP sector and makes ongoing recommendations for process improvements
  • Maintains compliance with all financial controls
  • Aids in monitoring account balances and completing bank reconciliations
  • Provide expense insight and estimates as part of the development of the annual budget and six-month forecast
  • Complete the 1099 filings for consultants and select vendors including landlords

Qualifications:

  • Must have an Associate Degree or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in related field
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience coding invoices in a basic chart of account
  • Understanding of foundational principals of finance, accounting and bookkeeping
  • QuickBooks experience required
  • Solid computer and data entry skills
  • Ability to multitask at a high level
  • Experience with government grants a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background investigation
