Job Opportunity: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the Smithsonian Institution

Are you an experienced and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) looking for an exciting and unique opportunity? The Smithsonian Institution, the world-renowned center for art, history, and culture, is seeking a dedicated LPN to join our dynamic team. Position Summary: As an LPN at the Smithsonian, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of visitors and staff members. Your strong nursing skills and empathetic approach will contribute to the overall experience of those who interact with the institution. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, addressing medical needs, and promoting a safe and welcoming environment within the Smithsonian's diverse museums.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to the public visiting the museums and the Smithsonian employees.
• Administer first aid, medication, and emergency care as needed.
• Collaborate with the medical team and management to ensure the health and safety of all individuals on Smithsonian premises.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Uphold infection control and safety protocols.
• Assist in health education and promotion initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Valid and current LPN license.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a clinical or public-facing setting.
• Strong nursing skills and the ability to handle medical emergencies with composure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathetic and compassionate approach to patient care.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
