Job Description

Dynamic premier trade association for the food industry is seeking a Director, Communications and Marketing that will oversee the development and execution of all marketing and communications initiatives. If this sounds like you we are looking for someone with experience leading and managing communications and marketing campaigns.

Job Requirements

Candidate must be able to:

  • Develop and implement an annual comprehensive marketing and communications plan aligned with the organization's goals and objectives
  • Ensure consistent branding across all channels, upholding the association's brand guidelines
  • Monitor brand sentiment and reputation, addressing any negative perceptions promptly and effectively
  • Create and manage the annual department budget, effectively maximizing ROI and contributing to the organization's goals
  • Plan and execute an industry awareness/marketing campaign including the management of external resources
  • Lead, develop and implement external communication strategies to keep members and stakeholders informed
  • Develop and pitch stories to national and local media to generate interviews
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations, identifying and implementing strategies to improve marketing and communications efforts
  • Create a cohesive plan to brand IFDA and its collection of programs and services
  • Develop prepared remarks, speeches, presentations, and other communications for IFDA staff and leadership
  • Foster long-term working relationships with key stakeholder audiences

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree. 10 years in association management is preferable
  • Experience leading and managing communications and marketing campaigns
  • The ability to lead cross-functional teams and work with different viewpoints to build consensus
  • Forward-thinking and creative
  • Open to new ideas with a strong desire to continuously improve
  • Excellent collaborative skills working with a team in a high pressure environment.
  • Exceptional people skills
  • A quick learner. Superior oral and written communications skills
  • Results oriented and organized
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines
  • Self-sufficient computer/technology skills
  • Minimal overnight travel (up to 20%) by land and/or air
  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule
